The regions and countries that you ship to are known as shipping zones. Each shipping zone includes shipping rates that apply to customers whose addresses are within that zone. You can see your current shipping zones and shipping rates on the Shipping page in your Pasls admin.
Pasls creates a default zone when you sign up based on your country. For example if you are from the US, Pasls creates a shipping zone called Inside US which includes all of the US
You might want to add new zones if you only operate in a smaller region, or have different shipping rates based on different area.
To add a shipping zone
- From the main menu, go to Configuration
- Click on Shipping Zones
- Click Add
- Enter the name and description
- In the type field, select the type of zone you want to define. Currently, Pasls supports Country, Province/State, and City. You can add multiple members to the zone.
For example, if you want to define a zone only including California and Nevada, you would select the type as State/Province and select California and Nevada as the members.
- Click Save.
Zone matching
When a customer enters their shipping address, Pasls tries to match the address to the defined zones inside out. That is, we try to match the address in city level, then province-level then the country level.
For example, in the scenario where you have defined 3 zones,
- Inside the US
- California & Nevada
- Los Angeles
If the user's shipping address is from New York, it will match Inside US zone, but
if the user's shipping address is from Sacramento, it will match California & Nevada but
if the user's shipping address is from Los Angeles, it will match Los Angeles
